| 2025 Business of the Year: Beyond the Barre Bernice Dionne, Owner Beyond the Barre is everywhere these days! Through her business, Bernice helps people physically become their best selves through yoga, Pilates, strength and cardio classes. Beyond the Barre offers consistent, fun and flexible class schedules with participation options at all levels — for women and, of course, men too. The community is seeing just how charitable Beyond the Barre is with its time and ENERGY. The business isn’t afraid to help where needed. Currently, Bernice is serving on the BPW board while also raising funds for the Good Health Clinic. |
2024 Business of the Year: Houston Insurance Agency |
Houston Insurance Agency was recognized for their positive impact on our community. Owner Mary Houston regularly sponsors and donates to BPW events and so many other local events. Whatever is needed – be it just enthusiastic support or monetary contributions – Houston insurance is there. Houston Insurance also demonstrates a strong commitment to working women. Mary started the business on her own and worked her way up to create a successful business that is now one of the most supportive women-owned businesses in our community. She also hires and mentors women interested in learning the insurance business. | .jpg) |

2022 Business of the Year: Sandbar Books Sandbar Books was recognized for bringing to our community a welcome alternative to online shopping for books and last-minute gifts. Owned by Becky Washam, this relatively new business quickly became a destination for book clubs, children's events and other community gatherings. In the words of one nominator, "Sandbar Books is a wonderful local business and we are thrilled to have them as part of our community!" |  |

| 2021 Business of the Year: Doc's Diner Doc's Diner was recognized as a "Keys classic" -- a place for locals where they always remember your face and repeat guests quickly become family. Doc's employs a strong group of woman and supports many local nonprofits and community organizations throughout the Keys, including the Rotary Club. Owner Gina Boilini served on the BPW Board of Directors for many years, including as President. |
