Adult Women's Scholarship Program

Application deadlines: April 15 and September 15 

The Upper Keys Business & Professional Women (BPW) Scholarship program is designed to help local women gain a professional edge through education and training.

Scholarship awards of up to $1500 per applicant may be used for fees for classes and required materials needed to pursue certifications, training classes, higher educational degrees and CEU-associated professional licensing. Other expenses may also be eligible.

In selecting scholarship recipients, particular emphasis is given to women who

  • demonstrate strong character and desire to have a positive impact on those around them,
  • are committed to collaboration with other women through active community involvement and
  • have clear professional goals that make them strong role models for the current and next generation of working women.

Minimum requirements: 

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Florida Keys resident for 3+ years 
  • 3+ years of post-high school work experience

Awards will be granted by the Upper Keys BPW directly to the educational institution or reimbursed to the awardee with receipts. Funds must be disbursed within 6 months of the date awarded.

Eligible applications will also be considered by the Holly Given Fund for scholarships for career training and education. 

Application deadlines are April 15 and September 15 annually. 

All applicants will be informed of the Committee's decision within 6 weeks of deadlines.
