Business of the Year Awards

Each October, Upper Keys Business and Professional Women (BPW) celebrates National Business Women’s Week by naming a Woman of the Year and a Business of the Year. These awards recognize individual Upper Keys BPW members and member-run businesses that have positively impacted our organization, shown support for working women and made meaningful contributions to the broader community. Nominations may be submitted during the annual nomination period (in September) by any Upper Keys BPW member in good standing. Members may submit more than one nomination for each award. Once the nomination window closes, all members will be invited to vote on the nominees as part of the final selection process. Awards are announced at our annual "Celebration of Working Women" event in October. | About National National Business Women's Week was created in 1928 by the National Federation of Business and Professional Women's Clubs to recognize the important contributions made by working women. In 1938, it became an officially recognized annual event. Today, National Business Women's Week is celebrated nationwide during the third week of October each year. |

| 2023 Woman of the Year: Patricia Milian Patricia was recognized for her dedication, commitment and contributions to BPW, both at the local and state levels. Patricia embodies the true spirit of service and leadership within BPW. She demonstrates an innate ability to lead by example, consistently stepping up to take on important roles and responsibilities within our organization. Her inclusive and welcoming nature makes every member feel valued, appreciated and a vital part of our organization. She generously shares her knowledge and experience in marketing, branding, training and professional development to impact our organization and the community. Patricia also spearheaded the creation of the BPW Scholarship Endowment Fund with CFFK. |
2023 Business of the Year: Voyage Blue Travel |
Ilja Chapman, Owner Voyage Blue Travel was recognized as a perfect example of a successful woman-owned business in our community. Owner Ilja Chapman started the business as a solopreneur and quickly grew it into a thriving business offering clients an exceptional level of service and care. As a past BPW president, Ilja is a strong advocate for working women and has mentored and encouraged multiple female employees. Voyage Blue Travel is a frequent sponsor of BPW events, generously contributing to our Adult Women's Scholarship Program. Voyage Blue Travel is also an active member of the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce, where Ilja recently served on the board. |
